Class Description
Join our class to explore the techniques around setting stones in prong settings!
In this class we will explore the basics of gemstone anatomy and explore how to successfully set gemstones in prong settings. Our focus will be on rounds, pears, and oval cut gemstones. We will go over what makes up the anatomy of the gemstones and how understanding that can help you to better set your stones in class and on your own. Each class will have a half hour of demonstration instruction, followed by an hour of work time for students. This class will gear you towards being able to set a large range of ready made settings as well as useful bench jeweler knowledge.
CZs and sterling silver settings will be supplied to you and will be a part of the supply fee. You leave each day with pieces of jewelry that you have set and finished yourself!
You are more than welcome to bring your own gemstones to class, but please be aware that the settings we will use can only fit certain sizes. Feel free to email me for details. Additionally if you would like a set of gold settings versus sterling silver, please email me. Cassidyrose2@ymail.com
