Earrings, Earrings, Earrings!
with Lisa Heller
This fun one-day workshop caters to all experience levels. You will make two pairs of earrings using the arc tension method that requires no prior metalsmithing experience. Participants can then personalize their earrings using a variety of metalsmithing techniques and their own experience level. This is a great way to get a taste of metalsmithing if you have no experience and a great way to learn a new technique in one day for more experienced metalsmiths.
PREREQUISITE: None. Beginners welcome!
Supplies for 2 pairs of copper earrings with sterling ear wires are included. For participants who want to use sterling silver instead, there will be a small additional charge for the cost of the material (payable to instructor or Dallas at class). If you want to provide your own sterling, please bring 22 gauge sterling silver sheet.
Atlanta based Lisa Heller began her journey as a jeweler making plastic stretch beads bracelets for her son's 3rd grade class. She was immediately hooked. A dozen years later, Lisa now works with silver, gold, and precious and semi-precious stones, but still has one of the original stretch bracelets as a memento of that journey. In addition to creating and teaching, Lisa is a past President of the Metal Arts Guild of Georgia and has been the House Manager for the Atlanta Contemporary Jewelry Show for the last seven years.
