Class Description:
In this class we will be building on your previous experience and skill level. With emphasis on design considerations, the suggested focus in the summer class is on cuff bracelets and hoop earrings in mixed metals. Students can apply what they learn to other projects if they desire. We will work in sterling silver, copper, brass, and/or gold, with a focus on the properties of each metal and on how to combine them in creative ways.
Every class will include relevant skills demonstrations with detailed explanations and often handouts so that the projects will move along, adding techniques and sharing ideas in a logical sequence to produce something beautiful. There will also be individual conversations focused on each person’s needs and projects.
On the advanced level, the class prepares those who want to make jewelry professionally, while paying close attention to every student's needs.
This weekly class meets IN-PERSON at the Metal Arts Guild of Georgia. Please plan to arrive no earlier than 15 minutes prior to class.
