Class Description

The possibilities are endless. Large or small? Drops or Dangles? Hoops or Studs? Simple or Statement? What is your style? In this one day intensive, we will explore all of the possibilities and so much more! Some of the techniques that will be covered are fine soldering of ear wires and earring posts, creating hand-made ear wires, different approaches to creating movement, adding dimension to your designs, various surface embellishments and patinas. Students should expect to complete at least one pair of earrings, or a variety of experiments. It is up to you!

Prerequisite

None. Students of all skill level are welcome.

Materials, Supplies & Tools

SUPPLY KIT

The following supplies are included in your class fee:

  • 6” - 20 ga Sterling Silver Wire, Hardened

  • 1 pair: Sterling Silver Earring Posts and Ear Nuts

  • 12” - 24 ga Fine Silver Wire

  • 6” each Copper Wire: 16, 18, and 20 ga

  • 6” each Brass Wire: 16, 18 and 20 ga

  • 2” x 3” Copper Sheet: 24ga

  • 2” x 3” Brass Sheet: 24ga

* The instructor will have additional materials available for purchase.

The studio provides all of the necessary tools, but feel free to bring your own, if you prefer.
