Sunday Evening Beginning Metalsmithing

Instructor Donna D'Aquino | Learn the basics of the ancient craft of metalsmithing and jewelry making. In this fast paced studio class, you will be introduced to a variety of tools and hand skills used to create jewelry and objects from non-ferrous metals.

This is a LIVE, IN-PERSON event. Please plan to arrive no more than 15 minutes early to the class.

Transitions: As of May 1, 2024, there will be an administrative fee of $30 applicable for any changes made to your class format, including moving from in-person to virtual sessions. This fee is implemented to cover the administrative costs associated with processing such changes.

PLEASE NOTE- Class will be held 6pm-9:30pm on October 27 and November 10. No Class December 1.

Learn the basics of the ancient craft of metalsmithing and jewelry  making. In this fast paced studio class, you will be introduced to a variety of tools and hand skills used to create jewelry and objects from non-ferrous metals. Using brass, copper, and sterling silver you will be introduced to a number of jewelry making techniques. Those techniques will include, but not be limited to: sawing, piercing, filing, sanding, riveting, texturing, forming, finishing, soldering and bezel setting a stone. 

With a focus on the principles of design, student projects may include pendants, rings, earrings, and bracelets.
