1 Session, Sunday November 30, 10am - 5pm

Do you want to take your enamels from “meh” to “WOW”? Are you curious about the world of enameling and want to try it?  Come spend a day of fun using Thompson’s Crackle Base Enamel to create bold and colorful surface effects.  Learn how to create totally special effects such as wavy, undulating textures, web like designs or spontaneous patterns.

In this class, students will get an introduction to the basics of enameling using Thompson unleaded opaque enamels.  We will focus on what enamel is and how it reacts when heated by torch and kiln.  Students will learn how to shape and clean metal bases to prepare for enameling.  We will be applying successive layers of opaque sifting enamels and using techniques such as sgraffito and Crackle Base enamels to create unique artistic pieces.  Students will leave with confidence to further explore these fun and fascinating techniques.
