Curious about the world of enameling and want to try it?
In this class, students will get an introduction to the basics of enameling using opaque enamels. We will focus on what enamel is and how it reacts when heated by torch and kiln. Students will learn how to shape and clean metal bases to prepare for enameling. We will be applying successive layers of opaque enamels by sifting and using techniques such as sgraffito and Crackle Base enamels to create unique artistic pieces. Students will leave with confidence to further explore these fun and fascinating techniques.
Open to all levels. Beginners welcome! No previous experience necessary.
