Prerequisite: Intermediate to Advanced Level – proficiency in soldering and sawing, have taken at least 3 beginner classes.
 
Nesting Shapes Puzzle Clasp: Increase your fabrication skills. In this 3-day workshop we will explore 2 types of Nesting Shapes Puzzle Clasps, a simple and more advanced version of this clasp. This innovative clasp is a 2-part closure mechanism with a receiving element attached to one end of a chain, and an insert on the other end. The insert and outside component are both closed shapes with added components to create a tension fit - one fitting fitting snugly inside the other. The two components interlock to create a clasp that closes securely. Students will start by fabricating a basic version of the 2-part Nesting Shapes Puzzle Clasp mechanism, and then design and fabricate a more advanced version.
