Those beautiful pendants you make deserve a fabulous fashion-forward chain to put them on. Come learn several different chain-making techniques with a chain-making expert. You will have fun sawing, creating loops, soldering, bending and twisting wire, making symmetrical and organic loops, and polishing in addition to learning several clasps that you can make yourself. You’ll gain knowledge and experience fabricating chains that use delicate patterns or that make a statement. You will be able to unleash your creativity with different metals, textures, and styles to infuse your jewelry with your unique personality and style. You won’t be sorry you’ve taken this class and you won’t want to settle for store-bought ordinary chains anymore.
In this course the student will learn three basic chains that serve as foundations for more ornate work. First we will build a Paper Clip chain, second, a loop-in-loop variation, and third, a solder-cut-resolder chain. We will be using fine silver and Argentium sterling silver, primarily for their fusing properties. Good torch control is a must!
