Course Fee: $180.00
Prerequisite: None.
This project introduces students to the fundamentals of creating a unique bracelet using wire and mixed metals, with a focus on basic soldering and shaping techniques. Beginners will learn how to safely solder simple connections, form and shape wire, and construct functional links and clasps. Emphasis will also be placed on exploring ways to manipulate metal through texturing techniques—such as hammering, stamping, and filing—as well as twisting wire to create visual interest and structural variation. As students build confidence, they will begin to combine these techniques to develop more intentional and cohesive designs. More advanced students may expand their work by incorporating layered elements, varied wire gauges, additional soldered components, or alternative materials, creating more complex and personalized bracelet forms.
