Description:
Ever wanted to learn how to take silver and gold scraps and recycle them into fresh sheet, wire and tubing? In this class I’ll show you how. This deep dive into in-studio recycling covers seasoning a crucible, the use of several different types of ingot molds, milling sheet, pulling wire, forming tubing, alloying different colors and karats of gold, making 80/20 reticulation silver and many other tips and tricks to help you successfully reuse precious metals.
Obtaining all the different tools used in recycling and forming raw materials can feel like a daunting task. I’ll show how even with minimal equipment you can do a lot. I’ll also show what a larger investment in tooling can achieve and talk about what order I would acquire these tools if I had to do it all over again.
By the end of class you’ll have the knowledge and confidence to recycle in your own studio.
