Explore fundamental jewelry construction skills in this multi-week class through guided instruction in sawing, soldering, forming, and finishing using brass, copper, and sterling silver. The class provides focused instruction and practice to build confidence with essential metalsmithing tools and techniques. No experience necessary - just a willingness to learn and create.This beginner-friendly course introduces students to foundational metalsmithing skills through two hands-on projects: a saw-pierced overlay cuff bracelet and a pair of handcrafted earrings with bezel set gemstones. Students will learn essential techniques including sawing, filing, texturing, soldering, forming, and finishing.By the end of the course, students will:Safely use basic jewelry tools and equipmentDemonstrate proper sawing (piercing) techniquesUnderstand soldering basics Apply texture and surface designForm and shape metal into wearable piecesFinish and polish jewelry to a professional standard. This class is for adults who are 18 or older. Closed-toe shoes required; denim or cotton clothing is recommended.
