Previous Add to Cart Next This is an VIRTUAL workshop online through Zoom, Sundays September 8 - September 29 11am-1pm EST. Set it & Forget it I Learning to design and fabricate your own settings is a great way to liberate your making process. In this workshop we will explore the wonderful world of making settings for stones, coins, ceramic shards, your child’s first lock of hair and many other beautiful objects that are so special they deserve to have a home built for them. Part one of this workshop will cover bezel, tab, frame, and basket settings. Students will be working with copper and/or silver depending on their piece and individual desires. Some basic metalworking skills such as sawing, filing and soldering will be needed in this workshop. I will demo step-by-step processes and have a PDF handout available for students to reference later when working on their own. Set it & Forget it II In part II of Set it and Forget it, we will build off of what you learned in the first class, taking forward steps to creating more complicated settings. During these sessions together, we’ll focus on faceted gemstones, both round and square. We will cover: tube, prong and basket settings with variations of all these that will add a unique touch to your work. I will demo step-by-step processes and have a PDF handout available for students to reference later when working on their own. Basic metalworking skills such as sawing, filing and soldering will be needed in this workshop.

In this fast paced studio class, you will be introduced to a variety of tools and hand skills used to create jewelry and objects from non-ferrous metals. Previous Add to Cart Next Taught by Instructor Donna D'Aquino This is a LIVE, IN-PERSON event. Please plan to arrive no more than 15 minutes early to the class. Transitions: As of May 1, 2024, there will be an administrative fee of $30 applicable for any changes made to your class format, including moving from in-person to virtual sessions. This fee is implemented to cover the administrative costs associated with processing such changes. PLEASE NOTE- Class will be held 6pm-9:30pm on October 27 and November 10. No Class December 1. Learn the basics of the ancient craft of metalsmithing and jewelry making. In this fast paced studio class, you will be introduced to a variety of tools and hand skills used to create jewelry and objects from non-ferrous metals. Using brass, copper, and sterling silver you will be introduced to a number of jewelry making techniques. Those techniques will include, but not be limited to: sawing, piercing, filing, sanding, riveting, texturing, forming, finishing, soldering and bezel setting a stone. With a focus on the principles of design, student projects may include pendants, rings, earrings, and bracelets. Come join us in this warm, welcoming, fun environment to learn something new!
