- Ekaterina Domashchenko | MetalArtsGuildGA.org
< Back Georgia Talent Ekaterina Domashchenko graduated from Georgia Tech with a business degree before she ever stepped foot in a jewelry studio. Soon after graduating with an unfulfilling degree she took her first metalsmithing class and fell head over heels for it. Years of beading and wire work prepared her for jewelry design but Ekaterina's primary inspiration comes from the sculptural capacity of metal. Her work often features intricate sawed out leaves, flowers, and trees, and wax cast elements as well. Ekaterina Domashchenko

- Christina Kober-Kauke | MetalArtsGuildGA.org
< Back Christina Kober Designs began as a hobby, essentially to help Christina learn about her father's business. Her father owned JFF Jeweler Supply, a jeweler supply store in Atlanta, Georgia. Christina began working for him when she was 14. She knew nothing about the field--it was just a summer and holiday job to fill her closet with clothes. Little did she know it would turn into her passion. After graduating college, Christina continued working at JFF. She found that she was curious about the process of making jewelry and decided to begin taking classes. She was like a sponge, asking customers and coworkers questions, reading books and experimenting at home. Soon, she found herself recommending what tools to buy and providing her own insights into crafting and fabricating jewelry. In 2007, armed with a few designs and some business cards, Christina opened her etsy shop and started exhibiting at art festivals. She quickly found a connection to her customers through her fortune cookie collection & inspiring messages. After being featured by a prominent blogger, followed by immense (and unexpected) social media attention in 2011, Christina Kober Designs grew exponentially and began partnering with retailers around the nation. https://christinakober.com/ Christina Kober-Kauke
- Tony Sanger | MetalArtsGuildGA.org
< Back Georgia Talent Tony has been active in metalsmithing and jewelry making for the last 6 years. After 30 years as a mechanical engineer, he began metalsmithing as a way to find a mental break from the stresses of his career and to develop his more artistic side. As the son of an aircraft machinist, he has worked with machining and other metal working tools throughout his life. Tony focuses his jewelry primarily on forged or manipulated metal. In addition to basic metal smithing techniques Tony uses presses and rolling mills to form the shapes of his pieces and, also utilizes his engineering skills to create solid 3D models in CAD and then print them in high resolution resin for casting. Tony and his family moved to the Kennesaw area in 2011 after spending many years working abroad in the UK, Europe, and the Middle East. Tony Sanger
- Kathy Kinev | MetalArtsGuildGA.org
< Back Georgia Talent Born in Minneapolis, Minn., Kathryn Kinev moved to Atlanta with her family at an early age. She attended Georgia State University and earned a bachelor of arts degree in fine arts, specializing in jewelry design and silversmithing. At GSU she discovered metalworking. “Once my hands touched metal, I never wanted to do anything else but design jewelry,” said Kinev, who studied under Professor Richard Mafong. Kinev began her professional career working for Atlanta-area jewelers. She opened Jewel Creations in her apartment in 1982. She incorporated Jewel Creations and moved to Buckhead on Peachtree Road in 1985. During this period she discovered the unique art of granulation and chain making, which had been of interest to her since her GSU days. She was inspired by the work of Smithsonian artist John Paul Miller of the Cleveland Institute of Art and attended classes with Jean Stark. Kinev studied ancient jewelry technology in London in 2005. Kinev is known for her strengths in creating original designs, fabricating, casting and stone setting. She works in platinum, 18K and 22K, including granulation. She is a graduate gemologist and an Alumni member of the Gemological Institute of America. She is a Fellow of the Gemmological Association of Great Britain.
