Class Description
This session is for self-directed students proficient in basic skills, who want to refine their jewelry making and take their work to the next level. Learn a wide range of metal and stone-setting techniques from a professional metalsmith who can help you get your individualized work looking top notch. A variety of demos will be shown each semester and design discussions will be ongoing. Great experience for those on the professional track or those who want their individual jewelry visions to come to life.
PREREQUISITE: Three (3) Intermediate levels of instruction or permission from instructor.
Helen Blythe-Hart
Helen is an internationally collected metal artist and educator. She has been metalsmithing and teaching for over 40 years. Her invention, a revolutionary soldering method called the Heat Zone, has helped thousands to conquer the torch. She uses her method to create strikingly original jewels opulently encrusted with colorful gemstones and futuristic sculptures. Degrees include an MFA and BFA in Jewelry and Metalsmithing and decades of Gemology.
